Arbit Weekly Sneaker Digest

Is the A Ma Maniere Resell Market in Trouble?

What’s up guys?! Hope y’all had a food-filled Thanksgiving! 🦃 We took the day off but had to drop our digest this week with so much big news coming out. In addition to historical sales, market sentiment is an important factor in our sneaker price analysis. For example, how does A Ma Maniére owner James Whitner’s involvement in a money laundering complaint filed in court this week impact demand (and supply?) of current and upcoming A Ma Maniére/Jordan collabs? Scroll down to see what market data is telling us!

Big thanks to everyone who pulled up to our table at Texas Got Sole last weekend! 🙏🏾 And BIG congrats to the winner of our first subscriber giveaway—Micaela Santos! App Feature Focus: Market Activity

The Arbit Beta V2 app allows you to search for a pair of sneakers and see price activity across online marketplaces for those sneakers in a specific size. Rather than opening up different apps to check prices, Arbit shows you lowest available asking prices with one search. And under each marketplace’s lowest ask, you can see how that ask compares to our algorithm-generated fair market value for that sneaker. The app also gives a quick look at lowest ask, last sale, and average sold price across the market, a quick rollup for quick decisions. 💡

Market Analysis: Yeezy Sells, Travis and Kobe Profit

We continue to be bullish on the collab market. 📈 Check out the price premiums for the top 10 selling collaborators by volume. Though Adidas Yeezy Slides are keeping Yeezy’s relevant (5 of the top 8 selling Yeezy’s over the last 30 days were Slides), popular Jordan and Nike collaborators Travis Scott, Kobe Bryant, and Virgil Abloh are delivering significant profit margins. Speaking of Kobe, buy the Nike Kobe 6 Protro Reverse Grinch (FV4921-600). Soon. Not yet. And preferably in bigger sizes. The Reverse Grinch’s are rumored to have a wide release on December 16th, but demand by Kobe fans, hoopers, and resellers should mean sizes 11 and up in particular will command a substantial margin for profit (think $200+ per pair). Obviously you’re buying these for retail, but even at resell, I’d pull the trigger if prices get to $420-$550 or below. Bempah

Market Analysis: Demand for Jordan 5 A Ma Maniére “Dusk” Strong Amid Owner’s Legal Troubles

Jordan 5 Retro A Ma Maniére Dusk

It was publicly revealed this week that James Whitner, owner and founder of the Whitaker Group (A Ma Maniére and Social Status among other brands), is under legal fire in a money laundering investigation. 😬 More details here at sneakernews.com. Despite this, the Jordan 5 A Ma Maniere “Dusk” (FD1330-001) sold out in minutes today on the AMA website. The Dusk 5’s have resold at $100 over retail on average the last two weeks, with larger sizes selling for $200-$300+ over retail. These are strong demand indicators for the Jordan 5—a model that doesn’t typically perform well on the resell market. While we believe that prices will settle in at a much lower profit margin once more pairs are in hand and available and we won’t buy until then, the market is making one thing clear: A Ma Maniére is not cancelled. Yet. Coop & Natalya
