Arbitrage Picks: Two Biggest Buying Opportunities

According to both of our models, the two biggest arbitrage opportunities currently in the market are the Jordan 4 Retro SE Craft Medium Olive (FB9927-200) and the Jordan 5 Retro A Ma Maniere Dusk (FD1330-001). Our V1 model (current expected value) puts both silhouettes at $55-$65 above current sale prices. Meanwhile, our V2 model (future price change probability) predicts price increases for both over the next 30 days.

Though the 4’s are currently available in some sizes at retail price (Nike.com) and there have been sales below retail on the resell market, our models don’t view this negatively. The Jordan 4 is currently Jordan’s most resale-able silhouette, resell market sales are strong, and they’re a wearable, seasonal colorway with quality materials.

Average sale price for the Jordan 5’s has come down significantly from its peak of around $580 in mid-November. They reached a bottom in early December. Prices are starting to rise again and the model predicts this will continue over the next month.

Market Analysis: Price Differences Marginal Across Major Marketplaces

We’ve started looking into sales data for popular SKUs on major online marketplaces like StockX, Alias, eBay, and Grailed to find price advantages, either for buyers or sellers. So far, for shoe-specific comparisons, we’ve discovered only a marginal difference in average price and price above retail (premium).

The difference is even narrower with high volume, lower priced SKUs. While a buyer may pay $15 more for a pair of Jordan 3 Retro White Cement on Grailed than eBay, the price difference for the prolific Nike Dunk Low Panda is literal pennies.
