Getting to $1M Raised with $500,000 Atento Capital Investment 🙌🏾

Thank you to the team at Atento Capital, especially the hard-working pre-seed crew, for their $500,000 investment! Arbit is now one of less than 75 Black female-led companies to raise a million from venture capital since 2021. (Business Insiders, April 2023) We’re excited about the work ahead of us and motivated to open doors for others along the way.

Generating Revenue with Data Export Subscriptions

As of yesterday, our data export subscriptions are live and available to individuals and organizations looking for sneaker product and market price information. We transitioned these products from The Sneaker Database after acquiring them in May. Based on feedback from legacy customers, we’ve improved the product offerings and restructured pricing.

Customer Insights from Product Demo at Dallas SneakerCon 👟 in August

We hit the road last weekend with our current prototype. 🚘 We recorded 19 demo sessions and collected 10 surveys. Here are a few key takeaways:

  • Users were compelled by the concept of Arbit’s fair market value due to their skepticism toward isolated sneaker pricing information on marketplaces like StockX, GOAT, eBay, etc.

  • Resellers see added value in being able to access their inventory and cost basis information on the app.

  • Real-time market tracking of specific shoes, with timely notifications that signal price changes, has the potential to be a game-changing feature.

Arbit Welcomes Data Engineer, Stanford Grad Andrew Bempah to the Team

We are SO HAPPY to have Andrew Bempah join us as data engineer! 🚀 Andrew is a former tech startup founder who previously worked for an EdTech startup deploying machine learning models to help post-secondary institutions manage student retention.

How’s the work going, Andrew? Happy with the progress on the cleaning patterns we are using for the eBay data. The improvements to the quality of the size data we are able to scrape from a largely unstructured data source like eBay will help our model capture more signal from the market.
